Britton qualified for two events in the world championships after winning the 400-meter hurdles (57.99) and claiming runner-up honors in the 100-meter hurdles (13.37). Classmate Loxsom took first place in the 800-meter run (1:47.45), while Pendleton won the junior discus throw with a toss of 52.54 meters.
Meanwhile, former Purdue All-American Kara Patterson shattered the American record in the javelin. Her throw of 66.67 meters (218-08) is third in the world in 2010 and breaks the United States mark by more than two meters.
