Big Ten wrestling boasts 64 ranked wrestlers in this week's InterMat College Rankings, with four grapplers holding the No. 1 ranking in their class following the end of the Big Ten regular season. Iowa 125-pounder Matt McDonough, Michigan 141-pounder Kellen Russell and Penn State 149-pounder Frank Molinaro and 165-pounder David Taylor each remain in the top spot in their weight class' rankings. The Big Ten also boasts the top three squads in the team rankings, as Penn State remains at No. 1, followed by No. 2 Minnesota and No. 3 Iowa. Sixty-two Big Ten wrestlers appear in the top 20 of their respective weight classes in this week's InterMat College Rankings, including four top-ranked grapplers. Iowa 125-pounder Matt McDonough, Michigan 141-pounder Kellen Russell and Penn State 149-pounder Frank Molinaro and 165-pounder David Taylor each have earned another week atop their class' rankings, as the Big Ten boasts at least one wrestler in the top two of eight of the 10 classes. In the team rankings, Penn State continues its reign in the top spot, while No. 3 Minnesota and No. 4 Iowa join the Nittany Lions in the top five. Nine Big Ten wrestling teams are ranked or are receiving votes in the latest NWCA/USA Today Division I Coaches Poll, with four conference squads earning top-five consideration this week. Penn State remains the top-ranked Big Ten team at No. 2, while No. 3 Minnesota, No. 4 Iowa and No. 5 Illinois each move up in this week's poll. Ohio State and Nebraska join the four top-five teams in the top 10, ranking sixth and eighth, respectively, while Michigan checks in at No. 14. Northwestern holds No. 18, while Purdue is also receiving votes.

The Big Ten is well-represented in the second of three sets of NCAA coaches' panel rankings, with 90 wrestlers earning spots in the top 33 of their respective weight classes. Four Big Ten grapplers have taken the top spots in their classes, as Iowa's Matt McDonough (125 pounds), Michigan's Kellen Russell (141), and Penn State's Frank Molinaro (149) and David Taylor (165) each earned No. 1 rankings in the latest edition. The Big Ten boasts at least six ranked wrestlers in each weight class, including double-digit numbers in half of the classes. Eleven conference wrestlers are ranked at 149 and 197, while 10 are ranked at 165, 174 and heavyweight.
Additionally, the first individual RPI rankings were released, with 75 Big Ten wrestlers ranking in the top 33 of their class. Molinaro, Taylor and fellow Nittany Lion Ed Ruth (174 pounds) boast No. 1 RPI ratings in their weight class.
The final set of coaches' panel rankings and the RPI are two of the three tools used as part of the selection process to determine the qualifiers for the 2012 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.

Iowa and Minnesota have received two of the four No. 1 regional seeds for the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals, set to begin this weekend. Eight of the 12 conference squads are taking part in the event. The Gophers hold the top seed in the Rutgers Regional and will take on the winner of No. 4 Kent State and No. 5 Rutgers on Saturday. Michigan will also compete in the Rutgers Regional, earning the No. 2 seed. The Wolverines will face either No. 3 Missouri or No. 6 Cal Poly. The top-seeded Hawkeyes face the winner of No. 4 Virginia Tech and No. 5 Northern Iowa in the Iowa State Regional on Sunday, while No. 6 Wisconsin squares off with host and No. 3 seed Iowa State in the first round. No. 2 seed Illinois will compete in the Cornell Regional on Sunday, taking on either No. 3 Oklahoma or No. 6 American. Purdue will compete in the same regional as the No. 5 seed, facing No. 4 Central Michigan in the first round. No. 2 Nebraska and No. 3 Ohio State earned spots in the Oklahoma State Regional, with the Huskers wrestling the winner of the Buckeyes and No. 6 Boise State on Sunday.
