Big Ten wrestling boasts 63 ranked wrestlers in this week's InterMat College Rankings, with five grapplers holding the No. 1 ranking in their respective class. Iowa 125-pounder Matt McDonough, Ohio State 133-pounder Logan Steiber, Iowa 157-pounder Derek St. John, Penn State 184-pounder Ed Ruth and Minnesota heavyweight Tony Nelson each sit in the top spot in their weight class' rankings. The Big Ten also boasts five of the top six squads in the team rankings, as Penn State is checks in at No. 1, followed by No. 3 Minnesota, No. 4 Iowa, No. 5 Illinois and No. 6 Ohio State. Penn State takes over the top spot this week, followed by No. 3 Minnesota, No. 4 Ohio State and No. 5 Iowa. Illinois checks in at No. 6, while Nebraska sits at No. 9. Northwestern and Michigan sit at Nos. 12 and 14, respectively, while Purdue comes in at No. 21.

The top five spots remain unchanged, as No. 1 Minnesota, No. 2 Penn State, No. 4 Iowa and No. 5 Ohio State remain in the same position as the preseason poll. Nebraska also remains at No. 9, while Northwestern moves to No. 13 and Michigan checks in at No. 16. Purdue and Wisconsin also appear in the rankings for the first time this season, clocking in at Nos. 23 and 25, respectively.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a varsity starter or key reserve, maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.30, have sophomore eligibility and be nominated by his or her sports information director.
