Park Ridge, Ill. - Big Ten Commissioner James E. Delany announced the hiring of Joshua Munk as Associate Director of Football Operations. Munk will assist with the management of the annual Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon and Big Ten Football Championship Game, the first of which will be held in December 2011. He will assume his new role at the conference office on Feb. 16.
Munk comes to the Big Ten after serving as Assistant Athletic Director of Game & Event Operations at Grand Valley State University since August 2007, where he managed the game operations for all home athletic events. He also acted as Event Manager for more than 50 NCAA Championship events and coordinated game operations with county and campus law enforcement and other on-campus departments. Munk has also worked at Santa Clara University as Manager of Athletic Events, Facilities and Operations, and at Bradley University as an Athletic Events and Operations Assistant. He received his bachelors degree in physical education from Grand Valley State University in 1999 before earning his masters in sports administration from Central Michigan in 2001.
