The USA men’s basketball team dominated Germany with a 106-57 win on Monday night in Beijing. Former Illinois guard Deron Williams scored nine points, grabbed four rebounds with two assists and two steals. Former Ohio State standout Michael Redd netted a field goal as well in the win. David Neville, formerly of Indiana, finished second in his heat representing the United States in the 400-meter dash and moves on to the next round. Former Purdue baseball player Mike Duursma went 1-for-3 for the Netherlands in its loss to Cuba. Kayla Bashore, formerly of Indiana, had a shot on goal in the USA field hockey team’s tie with Great Britain. |
