The USA men’s basketball team advanced to the gold medal game with a 101-81 win over Argentina. Deron Williams, formerly of Illinois, had six points, a rebound and two assists. Former Ohio State standout Michael Redd saw just over five minutes of play with a pair of rebounds.
Former Indiana track standout David Neville ran the first leg for the USA 4x400-meter relay team, as the group finished third in the heat.
Ohio State alum Kate Hooven helped the United States synchronized swimming team to a fifth place finish in the Team Event Technical Routine.
