The USA men’s basketball team earned the gold medal in Beijing with a 118-107 win over Spain.  Former Illinois alum Deron Williams had seven points, a rebound, an assist and a steal in the win.

With the closing ceremonies in Beijing compete, this ends the Big Ten’s daily Olympic updates for the 2008 games.
