CHAMPIONSHIPS RECAP

OMAHA, Neb. - The top-seeded Minnesota baseball team won the 2018 Big Ten Tournament title after posting a 6-4 win over second-seeded Purdue in the championship game Sunday at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb.

The Gophers become the first team since 2014 (Indiana) to win both the regular season and tournament titles in the same season. Toby Hanson paced Minnesota with two hits on two at bats, while Ben Mezzenga and Luke Pettersen had two RBI apiece. The Gophers earned their conference-leading 10th Big Ten Tournament title.

Minnesota improves to 41-13 on the season and earns the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Selection Show will air at 12:30 p.m. ET Monday on ESPNU.

Minnesota's Jordan Kozicky was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player. Below is the 2018 Big Ten Baseball All-Tournament Team:

CREDENTIAL APPLICATION

The credential application process for the 2018 Big Ten Baseball Tournament, held at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb., from May 23-27, has begun.

Media can apply for credentials through the credential application form. Please fill out the form and return it to Megan Rowley via email (mrowley@bigten.org) by Wednesday, May 16. All credentials will be distributed on site. No credentials will be mailed.

MEDIA INFORMATION

Pre-Tournament Press Conference:
The pre-tournament press conferences featuring the eight participating head coaches will be held Tuesday, May 22nd, at 10:45 am CT in the Press Interview Room.

Print Media:
Print media will be located in the TD Ameritrade Park Omaha Press Box, located on Press Level. Media seating is not assigned.

Postgame Press Conference:
Postgame press conferences will be held following the conclusion of each game. Head coaches and select players will be available in press conferences following their cooling-off periods. Any additional requests must be made through school communication directors. The order of appearance for postgame press conferences will be the winning team first, followed by the losing team. However, this format will change for the final game of the tournament with the losing team going first, then followed by the winning team. If a team is scheduled to play in a game immediately following a game in which it has just played, it will not appear in the first game's press conference.

Local Television Outlets:
Broadcast rights for all games of the Big Ten Baseball Tournament belong to BTN. Other television outlets are permitted to film game action, so long as there is no interference with BTN's live broadcast. A maximum of two minutes (2:00) of game video footage (without audio) may be utilized during the seven days following the conclusion of the game solely within regularly scheduled bona fide news programming distributed via television, and may not be distributed via the internet, wireless or other forms of media. Local Television outlets can shoot game action from the first and third base wells located on the end of each dugout.

Radio:

Photography:
Photographers are permitted to shoot from designated photo areas adjacent to the dugouts. These locations are accessible from the field level tunnel and/or field. Photographers are NOT permitted to photograph from the field or from the top of the dugouts.

Tickets for the tournament can be purchased at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha starting one and a half hours prior to the start of the first game each day. CLEAR BAG POLICY

To ensure safety for all participants and fans, TD Ameritrade Park Omaha is now a clear bag policy venue. Please ensure visiting fans are aware of the policy below to provide them with the safest and most enjoyable experience. TD Ameritrade Park Omaha will also use magnetic wanding upon screening of patrons. All persons and bags are subject to search.

- Clear, uncolored plastic tote-bags will be permitted, or guests may use a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag *Ziploc or similar). Additionally, guests may also bring opaque small or clutch-sized purses/wallets, not exceeding 4.5 inches tall by 6.5 inches long, after proper security screening, continuing the policy started this summer for arena events. Only one bag is allowed per ticket holder.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

In case of inclement weather, fans will be directed to the concourse area with assistance from TD Ameritrade Park Omaha staff. The tournament will adhere to NCAA lightning policies.

In the event that the game is postponed due to weather, participants and field personnel should seek shelter in their respective clubhouse. Attendees will be directed to the nearest appropriate shelter location, either in the main concourse or in other interior spaces.
