Northwestern Opens 2006 Big Ten Baseball Season This Weekend

The 2006 Big Ten baseball season officially kicks off this weekend when Northwestern travels to South Florida for a three-game trip.
The Wildcats will open the season against the Bulls on Friday at 6 p.m. NU will return to the field on Saturday for a game at noon, followed by the finale on Sunday at 11 a.m.
Northwestern and Penn State will be in action the weekend of Feb. 17-19 as well, with the Wildcats playing at Virginia Commonwealth and the Nittany Lions at Tulane.
The first full week of Big Ten baseball will take place Feb. 24-26, as nine conference teams will be in action.
Illinois returns to defend its regular season Big Ten title, while Ohio State enters 2006 as the reigning Big Ten Tournament champions.
