Player of the Week

Goebbert batted .500 (7-for-14) at the Red Raider Classic in Lubbock, Texas over the weekend, driving in two RBI and scoring three runs over the course of three games. In his first collegiate contest, on Feb. 9 against Texas Tech, the freshman recorded a pair of RBI and a double and had at least two hits and one run scored in all three of the Wildcats' games. This is Goebbert's first career award and the first for a Northwestern freshman since Feb. 15, 2005 (Max Mann).

Schwartz led off Northwestern's season with six innings of no-hit baseball against Texas Tech on Feb. 9. The left-hander allowed just two earned runs off of three hits in the game and fanned three batters as he picked up the win in the Wildcats' 12-7 victory. This is Schwartz' second career award as he also was honored on Feb. 14, 2006.
