PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Thompson went 5-for-12 at the plate last week, hitting .417 with four RBI in Penn State's three-game series against No. 10 Tulane.  The senior outfielder recorded a double as well as the Nittany Lions' first home run of the year to go along with nine total bases, a .750 slugging percentage, and a .417 on-base percentage for the weekend.  Thompson was also flawless in the field, as he recorded eight putouts and an outfield assist.

Brauer, a junior left-hander, made his second start of 2006, pitching five complete innings in the Wildcats' 6-5, 10-inning win on Saturday. He struck out seven and walked three, giving up three hits and one run. In 10 innings so far this season, Brauer has recorded 15 strikeouts.
