Parr paced the Illinois offense over the weekend, combining to hit .700 with a .900 slugging percentage as the Fighting Illini went 3-0 at the Al Ogletree Classic in Edinburg, Texas. At Texas-Pan Am on Friday, the freshman went 4-for-4 with a pair of RBI as Illinois recorded an 8-0 shutout. Versus Stephen F. Austin on Saturday, the second baseman was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI in a 4-2 victory. Concluding the tournament on Sunday, the Chillicothe, Ill., native went 2-for-3 with a run-scoring triple in a 3-2 win. On the weekend, Parr was 3-for-3 with runners in scoring position and 4-for-4 with runners on base. Over the weekend, he improved his batting average by 203 points and now leads his team in batting (.476), slugging (.619), on-base percentage (.542), hits (10) and total bases (13).

Burkhart led Ohio State to a 4-0 record at the Kennel Club Classic in Jacksonville, Fla., improving the Buckeyes record to a flawless 7-0 on the season. The sophomore batted .474, reaching base at a .574 clip while slugging .895 and spending all four games behind the plate. At North Florida on Friday, the sophomore tallied his fourth career four-hit game, going 4-for-5 with a home run, a double, four RBI and two runs scored to lead the Buckeyes to an 11-6 win. On Saturday against George Mason, the backstop recorded one hit with a run and an RBI in an 11-5 Ohio State victory. In the second game of the day, again against North Florida, he tallied a pair of hits, including a home run for three RBI and two runs scored as the Buckeyes outlasted the Ospreys, 10-8. In the final game of the weekend, against Connecticut on Sunday, Parr was 2-for-4 with a double, three runs and two RBI in a 21-14 slugfest. During the four-game weekend, the Cincinnati, Ohio, native tallied three games with multiple hits, runs and RBI.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Cullen Sexton, Minnesota

Sexton picks up his first career Pitcher of the Week honor after pitching 4.1 scoreless innings of relief over two appearances in the Dairy Queen Classic. The sophomore tossed 2.2 innings of perfect baseball against UC Santa Barbara on Friday, coming in with the bases loaded in the seventh inning with the Gophers clinging to a three-run lead. The right-hander got a strikeout and induced a fly-out to end the threat, eventually picking up the save after fanning two and throwing 25 of 28 pitches for strikes. In the tournament finale on Sunday against Hawai’i, Sexton entered the game in the eighth with his team in a 4-2 hole and threw 1.2 shutout innings to hold Hawai’i at bay, setting the stage for a Gopher comeback. On the weekend, Sexton recorded a WHIP of 0.46 and held opponents to a .077 batting average as Minnesota won the Dairy Queen Classic for the first time in the 25-year history of the event.
