Ohio State and Purdue Share Player of the Week Honors; Iowa Earns Pitcher Award

Complete Release in PDF Format BIG TEN CO-PLAYER OF THE WEEK Bourquin was 5-for-6 (.833) in the Buckeyes' lone game of the week, helping OSU to a 14-0 victory over Massachusetts Sunday at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. The junior recorded five singles and drove in five runs as Ohio State pounded out a total of 18 hits in the game. Eric Wolfe, Purdue Wolfe batted .435 (10-for-23) during Purdue's 4-1 week and posted a slugging percentage of .870. The starting first base man for four years with over 500 career at-bats, Wolfe hit his first two home runs of his career during the week. Over the five-game stretch, Wolfe doubled on four occasions, scored six runs and drove in eight. The senior had at least one hit in each game and recorded two three-hit games during the series with Saint Louis. Wolfe drove in the winning run in the ninth inning in Purdue's 7-5 win over Missouri State last Tuesday and scored the winning run in a 4-0 win over Saint Louis this past Saturday. BIG TEN PITCHER OF THE WEEK In three Iowa wins during the week, Gudex recorded two victories and one save, while allowing just three base runners (one hit, one walk and one hit batsman) in four games. For the week, opposing hitters had a .033 batting average against the relief pitcher, which has continued the progression and confidence of the Hawkeye bullpen. In eight Iowa wins this year, Gudex has recorded a win or a save in seven contests and has maintained a perfect ERA of 0.00.
