Alex Dickerson, Indiana

Dickerson earns his first career weekly honor after leading Indiana to a series win at nationally ranked Illinois over the weekend. In three games versus the Illini, the freshman combined to hit .545 (6-for-11), reaching base at a .643 clip with a 1.091 slugging percentage to total an OPS of 1.734. The designated hitter recorded two hits in each conference game, also scoring two runs and driving in five. In non-conference action, Dickerson was impressive in a 3-for-4 performance at Cincinnati, recording an RBI with three runs scored. The Poway, Calif., native had two home runs in the series win over Illinois, including a solo shot in the 10th inning of Game 2, giving the Hoosiers the go-ahead run.

AJ Pettersen, Minnesota

Pettersen picks up his first career Player of the Week honor and the first for a Minnesota hitter this season after leading the Golden Gophers to a series win against nationally ranked Ohio State over the weekend. The freshman recorded three hits in each of Minnesota’s two wins over the Buckeyes and combined for a .545 average (6-for-11) with a .643 on-base percentage and .818 slugging mark in the series. In a non-conference game against Northern Iowa, Pettersen went 2-for-4 with two runs, and RBI and two walks. The sophomore then opened the Big Ten series by going 3-for-3 with two runs, two RBI a triple and a walk. Then, in the series finale, he went 3-for-5, tying his career-high with four runs, setting a new career mark with three RBI and recorded a double and another free pass.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Nolan Moody, Michigan State

Moody opened Michigan State’s McLane Baseball Stadium in exciting fashion on Saturday, throwing a no-hitter to defeat Northwestern, 2-0, in Game 1 of a doubleheader. The senior struck out five and allowed only two walks in the contest and was perfect through 7.2 innings of work. The no-hitter is the first in a Big Ten Conference game since 2006 and the first no-no for the Spartans since 1993. The weekly award is the first of Moody’s career and the first for Michigan State this season.
