BIG TEN PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Eric Rose, Michigan
JR, OF, Blissfield, Mich./Blissfield

Rose earns weekly honors after hitting .556 (10-for-18) in the four-game series at Purdue this past week.  The Michigan junior had two doubles, his first homer of the year, scored four runs from his leadoff position and stole four bases.  He also extended his streak of reaching base to lead off the game to six straight contests.  Rose scored the 'winning run' in each of the three Michigan victories at Purdue, while posting a slugging percentage of .833, an on-base percentage of .600 and 10 putouts on the weekend.  For the season, Rose has taken the team lead with a .382 (42-for-110) batting average, while his 20 steals also lead the Wolverines. In Big Ten only action, Rose is hitting .423 (22-for-52) with 11 stolen bases.

BIG TEN PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Alan Stidfole, Penn State
SR, LHP, New Bloomfield, Pa./Susquenita

Allowing seven hits and only one earned run in nine innings of play, Stidfole pitched his first complete game of the year, helping Penn State to a 12-1 win in the series opener at Northwestern.  In what was just the second complete game of the year for the Nittany Lion pitching staff, Stidfole struck out five and did not allow one walk.  The complete game marked his first since last year, which also came against the Wildcats.  The southpaw, who leads the Big Ten in strikeouts looking and is second in overall whiffs, allowed only two runners to reach beyond second base in the game and induced 13 ground ball outs and three double plays. He retired 11 straight at one point and threw 108 pitches in his third career complete game.
