Hunter batted .500 (7-for-14) with two home runs, seven runs batted in and eight runs scored to lead the Gophers to a 3-1 series win over first-place Illinois. The senior opened the series by going three-for-four with two RBI and three runs and concluded the four-game set by sparking Minnesota to a doubleheader sweep on Sunday, batting four-for-seven with two long balls, five RBI and four runs.
Mitch Hilligoss, Purdue

Hilligoss batted .474 (9-for-19) with seven runs batted in and five runs scored to lead Purdue to a 3-1 series victory over Iowa and vault the Boilermakers into second place in the League standings. After losing the series opener, the sophomore drove in three runs, including the game-winning tally, to produce an 8-7 triumph in game two. He added three more RBI and runs in two more victories, capping the final win with a two-run home run.
BIG TEN PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Clayton Richard, Michigan
FR, LHP, Lafayette, Ind./McCutcheon
Richard collected three saves last week, allowing no runs and only one hit in five and one-third innings with five strikeouts and no walks. Against Notre Dame, the freshman entered the game with a one-run lead and two men on with two outs in the seventh and got a force play before pitching two more shutout innings. In Sunday's doubleheader finale against the Hoosiers he picked up two more saves, allowing no hits or runs in three innings of work.
