Spartans Clinch Share of Big Ten Title

May 20, 2011

Michigan State clinched a share of its fourth Big Ten title and first since 1979 with a 10-1 win over Northwestern on Friday. After the final strikeout by Tony Bucciferro, the entire team rushed the field and celebrated with a dogpile on the infield before a standing ovation from the crowd.

"We talked about this moment from day one," said MSU head coach Jake Boss, who is only in his third year at the helm of the Spartan program. "For it to come true is really something special. It's such a good group of kids and they've worked so hard - I'm really happy and really proud for them." FULL STORY
