Freshman Alan Oaks launched a home run over the fence in left center field Monday, June 4, to give Michigan the NCAA Regional title with a 4-3 win over Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tenn. With the score tied 3-3 in the top of the tenth inning, Oaks' solo blast gave Michael Powers all he needed to seal the win for U-M from the mound. The win gives Michigan its first regional championship since 1984, and advances the Wolverines to the NCAA Super Regionals on June 8-11 with opponents, sites and game times TBA.
