The Big Ten Tournament's (BTT) No. 1 seed is now 11-6 all-time, while the No. 5 seed has an all-time BTT record of 4-9.

This is the first time since 2004 that the No.1 seed will play the No. 2 seed in the BTT championship game.

If Ohio State should win Sunday's championship game, it would mark the first time in history that both the men's and women's teams from the same school would have won both the Big Ten regular season title and the Big Ten Tournament title. Since 1998, only four Big Ten men's teams have won both the regular season and BTT crowns:  Michigan State (1999 and 2000), Ohio State (2002) and Illinois (2005).

For the fifth time in nine BTT games, the team that trailed at halftime came back to win the game.  One of these games was tied at halftime.

For the first time in the 2006 BTT, the team with the highest field goal percentage failed to emerge victorious. Indiana out-shot Ohio State, 33.3 percent to 32.8 percent.

Defense continues to reign supreme in the 2006 BTT.  The average winning score through nine games is 60.7 to 53.2.  The cumulative field goal shooting percentage for all teams is 38.5 percent (372-955), while the cumulative shooting percentage from beyond the three-point arc for all teams is 25.5 percent (83-325).

Indiana

Indiana's record in BTT semifinal games is now 1-3, while its all-time BTT record is 8-9. In tournament play, the Hoosiers are 2-1 vs. Ohio State (1-1 at Conseco). The Hoosiers' all-time record at Conseco Fieldhouse is now 12-4.  They had won six consecutive times at the Indianapolis arena.  Indiana leads its series against OSU, 99-70.

IU senior Marco Killingsworth posted his second double-double of the 2006 BTT.  He had 10 points and 10 rebounds against the Buckeyes this afternoon and posted 20 points and 12 rebounds Friday vs. Wisconsin.

Indiana coach Mike Davis finishes his Big Ten career with a 7-6 record in BTT games.

Ohio State

Today marked the first time in three BTT games that OSU has beaten IU.  Ohio State extended its seven-game winning streak. The Buckeyes have won 11 of their last 12 contests, bringing their overall record to 25-4. It's the most victories at OSU since the 1998-99 squad was 27-9; the Buckeyes went to the Final Four that season.

In BTT semifinal play, OSU holds a record of 3-1.  The Buckeyes won the BTT title in 2002 as the No. 2 seed.

For the second time in the 2006 BTT, Ohio State came from behind at halftime to win the game.

OSU leads in scoring offense in the Big Ten with a total of 2,181 points for the season.

Four of the five Buckeye starters hail from the state of Ohio: Jamar Butler, J.J. Sullinger, Terence Dials and Matt Sylvester.

The starting line-up recorded 44 of Ohio State's 52 points.

Today against Indiana, senior guard J.J. Sullinger recorded his third double-double of his career and his second this season. On Dec. 14, 2005, Sullinger had 23 points and 10 rebounds vs. UCLA. Career-wise, he has now scored 1,165 points.

With his 13-point performance vs. Indiana, senior Terence Dials now has a total of 1,518 points, good for 14th on OSU's all-time scoring list.  His 850 career rebounds rank sixth best in the Buckeye record book.
