Cornhuskers’ James Palmer Jr., Boilermakers’ Carsen Edwards share Player of the Week award; Buckeyes’ Kaleb Wesson named Freshman of the Week

James Palmer Jr., Nebraska

G – Jr. – 6-6 – Upper Marlboro, Md. – St. John’s College

  • Averaged 21.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and went 15-of-27 (.556) from the field in two wins last week
  • Scored a game-high 19 points on eight field goal attempts in a 72-52 win vs. No. 23 Michigan to lead Nebraska to its second win over a top 25-ranked opponent this season
  • Led all scorers with 24 points, including a game-winning 3-pointer with 0.3 seconds left in a 64-63 win vs. Illinois, to notch his fourth 20-plus point effort this season
  • Nebraska’s win vs. Michigan snapped a 10-game losing streak to the Wolverines dating back to 1964, including zero wins in eight meetings since the Huskers joined the Big Ten prior to the 2010-11 season

  • Averaged 21.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 3.5 steals and went 17-of-31 (.548) from the field, including 9-of-14 (.643) from 3-point range, in two wins last week
  • Set career highs with eight assists and six 3-pointers in an 87-64 win at Iowa and five steals in a 78-50 win vs. Wisconsin and posted back-to-back 20-point games for the first time in his career
  • Scored 22 points, dished out eight assists and knocked down six 3-pointers at Iowa to help Purdue match a Big Ten team record for 3-pointers made in a single game
  • Scored 21 points and had three assists vs. Wisconsin

  • Scored 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting and grabbed eight rebounds in Ohio State’s 67-49 win vs. Minnesota at the annual Big Ten “Super Saturday – College Hoops and Hockey” event at Madison Square Garden last weekend
  • Scored eight points and added six rebounds in just 18 minutes of action in a 71-65 win at Northwestern last week
  • Earns his second career Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor
