Player of the Week

Caleb Swanigan, Purdue

F – So. – 6-9 – Fort Wayne, Ind. – Homestead 

  • Averaged 25.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game in leading the Boilermakers to wins over nationally-ranked foes Northwestern and Maryland
  • For the week, shot 53.3 percent (16-of-30) from the field, 50.0 percent (5-of-10) from three-point range and 86.7 percent (13-of-15) from the free throw line
  • Scored 24 points and pulled down 16 rebounds against the visiting Wildcats, setting Purdue’s single-season record for double-doubles with 19
  • Poured in 26 points, corralled 10 rebounds, swiped three steals and added a pair of blocks in the 73-72 win at Maryland  
  • In conference games only, currently leads the Big Ten with 20.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per contest
  • Earns his fifth career Big Ten Player of the Week honor and fifth this season

Freshman of the Week

Jordan Bohannon, Iowa

  • Averaged 16.0 points, 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game in leading the Hawkeyes to a pair of Big Ten wins over Rutgers and Nebraska
  • For the week, shot 62.5 percent (10-of-16) from the floor, including a 69.2 percent (9-of-13) effort from three-point range
  • Scored 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including five three-pointers, and handed out four assists against zero turnovers against Rutgers
  • Chipped in 15 points, including a 4-of-6 performance from three-point range, and pulled down five rebounds versus the Huskers
  • Extended his three-point field goal total to 54, setting Iowa’s single-season freshman record
  • In conference games only, currently ranks third in the Big Ten with 4.4 assists per contest
  • Earns his first Freshman of the Week honor
