Butler earns Player of the Week honors after recording a career-high 20 points at No. 22/22 Michigan and then setting a new career-best with 22 points against No. 10/9 Illinois. For the week, Butler made 71.4 percent of his shots (15-of-21) and 87.5 percent of his three-point attempts (7-of-8), while averaging 21 points per game to lead the Buckeyes to two conference triumphs over ranked opponents. In addition, Butler made all five of his foul shots (5-of-5) and dished out an average of 4.5 assists per contest. Butler opened the week against Michigan, going 7-of-10 from the field and tallying five assists and five rebounds. Against the Fighting Illini, the sophomore guard posted an impressive performance, shooting 72.7 percent from the field (8-of-11) and notching a career-high five three-pointers, while adding four assists. In the last two seasons, the Buckeyes are 17-3 in games in which the Lima, Ohio, native dishes out four or more assists. Butler, who ranks second in the Big Ten in three-point field goal percentage (.552) in conference games only, earns his first Player of the Week accolade.
