The conference office announced on Monday the 17th weekly men’s basketball award for games played February 22-28. Michigan State’s Raymar Morgan earned a share of the weekly honor along with Ohio State’s Evan Turner.

Co-Players of the Week:
Raymar Morgan, Michigan State
6-8 - F – Sr.
Canton, Ohio – McKinley

Raymar Morgan posted 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead Michigan State over No. 3 Purdue in a critical road contest on Sunday. The performance marked Morgan’s second double-double in conference play this season and his highest scoring output since netting 20 tallies against Michigan on Jan. 26. Overall, the Spartan senior went six-of-nine (.667) from the floor while connecting on four-of-five (.800) attempts from the charity stripe in 32 minutes of action. The product of Canton, Ohio, also pulled down five offensive rebounds while adding six on the defensive end as MSU overpowered the Boilermakers on the glass, 46-20, in the victory. Morgan is now averaging 12.5 boards in his last two outings. The win brought Michigan State even with Purdue in the Big Ten standings as each team sits a half game behind Ohio State for the conference lead. This is the first Player of the Week award for Morgan this season and his fourth overall.

Last Michigan State Player of the Week: Durrell Summers (Feb. 1, 2010)

Evan Turner, Ohio State

Evan Turner collects his second weekly laurel in as many weeks after leading the Buckeyes to a pair of wins in Big Ten action while averaging 21.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists last week. Against Penn State, the junior lit up the scoreboard with 25 points on 8-of-17 (.471) shooting while registering an unblemished 9-of-9 mark from the foul line. The 6-7 swingman showcased his versatility by adding seven rebounds, seven helpers and three steals in the road win in State College, Pa. The Chicago native carried that momentum into Saturday’s home victory over Michigan, posting his 13th double-double of the season, and 24th overall, with 11 rebounds and 18 points while connecting on eight-of-11 from the floor.  Turner also added a career-high four blocked shots against the Wolverines while dishing seven assists.
