All 11 Big Ten Men's Basketball teams will converge on the United Center in Chicago this weekend, and the "Welcome to the Big Stage Basketblog" will be following them from the first tip until the champs cut down the nets.


Good morning from the United Center! At the everday home of the NBA's Chicago Bulls and the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks, the Big Stage transformation kicked off early Wednesday morning with setup starting at 8 a.m. With fans, media, teams and volunteers trickling in this morning, the arena is a whole new environment, buzzing with excitement for a great event.

All-Big Ten Honors

The conference office awarded annual men's basketball honors Tuesday with Wisconsin's Alando Tucker capturing the conference's highest accolade as he was named the Big Ten Player of the Year in voting by both the coaches and the media. Coach of the Year Thad Matta and Freshman of the Year Greg Oden represented Ohio State well. The 7-1 Buckeye center was joined by four other first-year standouts on the Big Ten All-Freshman Team. The five-man squad included Iowa's Tyler Smith, Michigan State's Raymar Morgan, Northwestern's Kevin Coble and Ohio State's Mike Conley Jr. | Full Story

2007 Big Ten Tournament Bracket Released

After an exciting closing to the Big Ten regular season, the conference announced the seedings and matchups for the 2007 Big Ten Tournament at the United Center. The field is set for the 2007 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament that will take place Thursday-Sunday, March 8-11, at the United Center in Chicago, Ill. Ohio State (27-3/15-1) claimed the No. 1 seed after capturing the outright Big Ten title for the second consecutive year. | Full Story
