Indianapolis, Ind. – On the heels of the largest Thursday session attendance since 2005, two upcoming sessions of the 2012 Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament have sold out. Tickets are no longer available for Friday’s afternoon quarterfinal session and Saturday’s semifinal session.
Despite the format moving from one Thursday session featuring three games in previous years to two sessions featuring two games each for 2012, the Thursday afternoon session attendance of 17,936 was larger than any Thursday crowd in the previous six tournaments.
Tickets remain available for Friday’s evening quarterfinal session (two games beginning at 6:30 p.m.) and Sunday’s championship game (3:30 p.m.). Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster at Ticketmaster.com or (800) 345-7000, or the Bankers Life Fieldhouse box office.
In Thursday afternoon action, Iowa defeated Illinois and advanced to face top-seeded Michigan State. Indiana, which defeated Penn State, will face fourth-seeded Wisconsin in the second game of Friday afternoon’s sold-out session.
Friday’s evening quarterfinal session features second-seeded Michigan against 10th-seeded Minnesota, while third-seeded Ohio State faces the winner of Purdue and Nebraska.
