Matt Roth led the Big Ten in shooting from the 3-point line at 54.5 percent on the year and 59.2 percent in league contests during his senior campaign. His 3-point percentage was the second-best ever at Indiana and his league percentage set a new IU record. Roth is tied for 10th all-time in career 3-point field goal percentage (41.4 percent) at Indiana.
The success of his senior season culminated into Indiana making its 36th appearance in the NCAA Tournament, which marks the sixth most in the event’s history and the most among Big Ten members. The Hoosiers tallied a 27-9 overall mark and made their first trip to the Sweet Sixteen since 2002 and just the second berth into the round of 16 since 1995.
The Washington, Ill., native is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree earned his master’s in athletic administration in the spring, after receiving his bachelor’s in sport communication and broadcasting last season.
