Senior guard Craig Moore had a career night Saturday in a Northwestern win at Brown, posting a school-record nine 3-pointers en route to a career-high 31 points. Moore hit eight of his nine 3-pointers in the first half on just nine attempts, tying his previous school record for 3-pointers in a game set on Feb. 26 of last season at Michigan. The victory helped the Wildcats improve to 3-0, marking their best start since the 1993-94 campaign. In Wednesday's victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Moore totaled 14 points while tying a career high with six assists to go along with three steals. He also became Northwestern's career leader in 3-pointers made, surpassing Vedran Vukusic (2002-06). Moore leads the Wildcats with averages of 17.3 points, 3.7 assists and 1.67 steals per game so far this season while shooting 58.6 percent from the floor.

Sophomore guard helps Penn State Battle to 4-0

Talor Battle nabs his first Big Ten weekly laurel after helping Penn State tally three victories last week. With the three wins, the Nittany Lions improve to 4-0 on the year and extend its home court win streak to nine games, the team's longest in 12 years. Battle posted outings of 16, 21 and 24 points on the week, twice logged a career high and team-leading total of six assists and tied for the team lead once with eight rebounds. For the week he tallied 61 points (20.3 ppg.), 15 assists (5.0 apg.), 14 rebounds (4.7 rpg.) and five steals. He shot 21-of-32 from the floor and 10-of-17 from behind the arch, including a career-best 9-of-11 outing for a game-high 24 points in Penn State's 70-50 victory over New Hampshire. Battle committed just three turnovers while playing an average of 34 minutes per game at the point.
