Welcome to the 2009 college football season! The Big Ten Conference would like to thank those media members who have covered Big Ten football over the years and would like to welcome those members new to our conference. This media guide is intended to assist in the media’s coverage of Big Ten football. Those needing additional information should contact the Big Ten Communications office.
Beginning with the 2009-10 academic year, the Big Ten will no longer produce printed versions of its media guides. As media become more reliant upon the internet, it made sense to move the media guide to an online version that can be updated on a more consistent basis. We will now be able to update records as they happen, thereby creating a living document that evolves with the season. Moving to an on-line media guide also allows the conference to contain costs while “going green”, saving almost one million pieces of paper.
The online portion of the media guide featured below also includes links to the 2009 Big Ten Media Directory and media guide PDFs for all 11 schools along with current rosters, coaches’ bios and statistics. Please note that the media directory and school media guides are for media use only and are password-protected – please contact the Big Ten Communications department for access information. Fans should contact schools directly to request any publications.
