Northwestern 48, Michigan State 41 (OT): C.J. Bacher threw for a school-record 520 yards and five touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime, and Northwestern scored a wild 48-41 victory over Michigan State on Saturday. Illinois 31, Wisconsin 26: Rashard Mendenhall led Illinois into unfamiliar territory Saturday, rushing for 160 yards and scoring two touchdowns in the Illini's 31-26 win over No. 5 Wisconsin. Indiana 40, Minnesota 20: Bryan Payton spent 2 1/2 seasons waiting for a chance to make some plays. On Saturday, with Indiana's top three runners sitting out, Payton finally showed his coaches and teammates what they'd been missing: Those powerful runs. Michigan 33, Eastern Michigan 22: Mike Hart was embraced on the sidelined by teammates and coach Lloyd Carr in the first quarter, when the public-address announcer told the crowd he was Michigan's career rushing leader. Penn State 27, Iowa 7: Anthony Morelli threw for 233 yards and a touchdown, Rodney Kinlaw ran for a career-high 168 yards and two scores and the Penn State defense shut down the Hawkeyes in a 27-7 win Saturday at Beaver Stadium. Ohio State 23, Purdue 7: Todd Boeckman passed for 200 yards and two touchdowns as No. 4 Ohio State beat No. 23 Purdue 23-7 on Saturday night.
