Penn State 36, Indiana 31: Penn State's defense stood up to Indiana. The Nittany Lions forced four second-half turnovers, three of which led to short field goals, and Rodney Kinlaw ran for the clinching touchdown in a 36-31 victory Saturday. Purdue 31, Iowa 6: Curtis Painter passed for 315 yards and three touchdowns to lead Purdue to a 31-6 win over Iowa on Saturday. Wisconsin 44, Northern Illinois 3: P.J. Hill ran for 184 yards and two touchdowns as Wisconsin went back to its power running game in a 44-3 victory Saturday over Northern Illinois to snap a two-game losing skid. North Dakota State 27, Minnesota 21: As the clock ticked toward zero, more than 30,000 North Dakota State fans roared their approval inside the Metrodome. Ohio State 24, Michigan State 17: No. 1 Ohio State got a scare, but avoided being yet another upset victim. The Buckeyes built a comfortable lead and then gave up two touchdowns off turnovers late in the third quarter -- and almost lost another fumble deep in their own territory on the next play -- to slip past Michigan State 24-17 on Saturday.
Michigan 27, Illinois 17: Carlos Brown ran for 113 yards filling in for Mike Hart and Mario Manningham scored two touchdowns to give No. 24 Michigan a 27-17 win over Illinois. |
