Northwestern 29, Indiana 28: Stefan Demos kicked a 19-yard field goal with 21 seconds left Saturday and Northwestern completed a comeback from a 25-point deficit to beat Indiana 29-28. The Wildcats (5-3, 2-2) trailed 28-3 in the second quarter after Indiana used a 70-yard TD run from Darius Willis on the game's first scrimmage play and a 93-yard kickoff return from Ray Fisher to build the big lead.
Ohio State 38, Minnesota 7: A week after a devastating 26-18 loss at two-touchdown underdog Purdue, Ohio State (6-2, 4-1 Big Ten) made Minnesota (4-4, 2-3) pay for its bad plays. The Golden Gophers had two major misplays in the secondary and two turnovers inside their own 20 that gave the Buckeyes 28 points.
Purdue 24, Illinois 14: Joey Elliott passed for 166 yards and ran for 62 yards and a touchdown, and Purdue beat Illinois 24-14 Saturday to avoid a letdown after upsetting Ohio State last week. Ralph Bolden ran for 78 yards and a touchdown, and Jaycen Taylor ran for 71 yards and a score for the Boilermakers, who rushed for 220 yards on 39 carries.
Penn State 35, Michigan 10: Daryll Clark threw three of his four touchdown passes to Graham Zug, helping No. 13 Penn State beat Michigan 35-10 for its first win at the Big House since 1996. The Nittany Lions (7-1, 3-1 Big Ten) shut down the Wolverines (5-3, 1-3) Saturday after they opened with a 70-yard TD drive.
Iowa 15, Michigan State 13: Ricky Stanzi connected with Marvin McNutt for a 7-yard touchdown pass as time expired and No. 7 Iowa remained undefeated with a 15-13 victory against Michigan State on Saturday night. The Hawkeyes are 8-0 for the first time in school history and have sole possession of first place in the Big Ten.
