The 2005 Big Ten men's golf season tees off Saturday with two Conference squads in action. Last season, Ohio State captured its first Big Ten title since the 1996-97 season, while Purdue finished fourth. This year, the Boilermakers will contend with the Buckeyes, who will be gunning for back-to-back titles in Madison, Wis., which will play host to the 2005 Big Ten Championships.

The remainder of the Big Ten squads will open their respective seasons during the month of February and on into the first week of March.

The season's first Big Ten Golfer of the Week selection will be announced on Thursday, February 10.
