Pairings and tee times have been altered for the Big Ten Match Play Championships due to the fact that Penn State was unable to travel to the event due to severe weather in the State College area.
The second annual Big Ten Match Play event will kick off the 2010 spring campaign this weekend, Feb. 12-13, in Coral Springs Fla., at the Heron Bay Golf Club. The course layout is expected to be a 7,268-yard, par-72. The Big Ten Network will be on hand to televise the event, airing tape delay coverage on Sunday, March 14 at Noon ET.
Competition begins on Friday with 10 conference squads vying in first round competition. Semifinal and title matches for both championship and consolation brackets will be contested on Saturday. Each paring consists of six individual matches between the schools. Indiana emerged with the team crown at last year’s inaugural event as the Hoosiers defeated Michigan in the tournament final.
