The semifinal round of the Big Ten Match Play Championship is underway, with eighth-seeded Michigan taking on fourth-seeded Iowa and second-seeded Purdue facing third-seeded Northwestern. The championship match will begin at 1 p.m. ET.

Second-seeded Purdue, third-seeded Northwestern, fourth-seeded Iowa and eighth-seeded Michigan all advanced to the semifinal round of the Big Ten Match Play Championship. The semifinals will take place Saturday morning at approximately 7:30 a.m. ET, while the championship match will begin at 1 p.m.


Eighth-seeded Michigan, fifth-seeded Ohio State, seventh-seeded Minnesota and sixth-seeded Indiana all advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Big Ten Match Play Championship. The Wolverines will face top-seeded Illinois, the Buckeyes will square off against fourth-seeded Iowa, the Gophers will play second-seeded Purdue and the Hoosiers will challenge third-seeded Northwestern.

The semifinals will take place Saturday morning at approximately 7:30 a.m., while the championship match will begin at 1 p.m.

The 2014 Big Ten Match Play Championship is underway at The Concession Golf Club in Brandenton, Fla. All 12 Big Ten men's golf teams are participating in the two-day event.

In the opening-round matches at 7:30 a.m. ET, eighth-seeded Michigan takes on No. 9 Michigan State and No. 7 seed Minnesota faces 10th-seeded Penn State. Other first-round matches include No. 5 Ohio State squaring off against No. 12 Nebraska and sixth-seeded Indiana competing against No. 11 Wisconsin.

Friday's quarterfinal rounds are scheduled to begin at noon. Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern and Purdue all earned top-four seeds and first-round byes in the tournament based on their Golfstat ranking at the conclusion of the fall season. The top-seeded Illini will face either the Wolverines or the Spartans, while the No. 2 Boilermakers will take on either the Golden Gophers or Nittany Lions. The third-seeded Wildcats will play the winner of the Indiana-Wisconsin match, while the fourth-seeded Hawkeyes will tee off against either the Buckeyes or Cornhuskers.

The semifinals will take place Saturday morning at approximately 7:30 a.m., while the championship match will begin at 1 p.m. The complete bracket is included above.
