Men’s Golfer of the Week

T.J. Howe, Penn State
Jr., Osceola, Pa. / Elkland Area

Howe guided the Nittany Lions this past week to a Pinehurst Intercollegiate Tournament Championship while the junior took home the individual trophy.  His three-round score of 209 (-7) set the event record by one stroke, previously held by U.S. Amateur Champion and current PGA Tour member Colt Knost.  Howe’s final 18-hole score of 67 ties the low round and low final round records of the tournament, setting a new career-best by two strokes.  As a team, Penn State broke the total team score record with 852 strokes and the final round team score mark, firing a 279 on the last 18 holes.   This is Howe’s first collegiate win and his first career weekly honor.

Last Penn State Golfer of the Week: Robert Rohanna (4/11/07)
