Chris DeForest, Illinois
Jr. - Cottekill, N.Y. - Rondout Valley

Junior Chris DeForest earns his second Big Ten Golfer of the Week laurel after winning the FAU Spring Championship at Gleneagles Country Club's Prestine Course and aiding the Illini to the tournament title last week. The Cottekill, N.Y., native fired a final round one-under par 70 after rounds of 68 and 67 to finish at -8, four shots in front of second-place Doug Fortner of Notre Dame. The win marked the second career tournament crown for DeForest, who also championed the 2008 D.A. Weibring Invitational as a sophomore. The Illini won the tournament by 18 strokes over Iowa in a tournament that included seven Big Ten teams.
