Jeff Overton, INDIANA
Junior, Evansville, IN/Evansville North
Overton won his fifth individual title this season after shooting a three-round, six-under-par 210 to wint the Fossum/TaylorMade Invitational over the weekend. The junior posted the low score (67) in the field on Sunday en route to a four-shot victory. The victory was Overton's first of the spring season and the fifth of his career. He currently leads the Hoosiers with a 70.06 scoring average and nine top-five finishes. Overton led the Hoosiers to their fourth team title, the most for an Indiana team since the 1974-75 season.
Greg Pieczynski, PENN STATE
Junior, Kingston, PA/Wyoming Valley West
Pieczynski shot a final round 67 and finished the 28th annual Rutherford Intercollegiate with an 8-under-par 208 to win the tournament crown by three strokes. As a team, Penn State shot a tournament-best final-round score of 278 to come within one stroke of tournament-winner Towson. Three golfers were tied for second place individually behind Pieczynski, including two from Towson.

Overton wrapped-up his third-consecutive Men’s Golfer of the Week honor when he finished tied for third at the FirstEnergy Intercollegiate, last weekend. It marked his third consecutive top-five finish and his fourth in his last five events. His opening-round 68 was his second-lowest score of the spring and his 14th round in the 60s this season. Overton leads the team with a 70.07 scoring average and is on pace to set the lowest scoring average in school history. Overton led the Hoosiers to a tie for third place among a field of 17 schools that included Iowa and Penn State.

Jeff Overton earned his second-consecutive Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor after tying for fourth place at the Kepler Intercollegiate over the weekend. The Invitational field of 18 teams included nine Big Ten programs. Overton fired a final round 69, the lowest round of any golfer in the field on Sunday. His even-par, three-round total of 216 was the lowest score of any Big Ten golfer in the field. He now owns seven top 10 and six top 5 finishes in nine events this season to go along with 18 career top 10's.

Jeff Overton finished second, three shots behind Kane Webber of Colorado, at the Boilermaker Invitational over the weekend. His performance led the Hoosiers to a fifth-place finish in the 18-team event that featured eight Big Ten squads and four programs ranked in the top 25 nationally. Overton tallied a three-round total of 209 on the par 72 course, including a best round of 67.
Kevin Hall, OHIO STATE
Senior, Cincinnati, OH/St. Rita School for the Deaf
Hall captured medalist honors at the 2004 Marshall Invitational with a final round score of 65, which tied a tournament record. The senior’s win also paced Ohio State to victory over 13 other programs. Hall's first-place finish and final round score of 65 are both career-bests. Bronson LaCassie, MINNESOTA
Freshman, Brisbane, Australia/Kelvin Grove State
LaCassie finished fifth at the Cleveland Golf/Augusta State Invitational with a 5-under-par total of 211 for three rounds. He finished just four strokes behind tournament champion Matt Hendrix of Clemson. LaCassie recorded the lowest three-round total of his career and equaled his best career round with a score of 69 for Sunday’s final 18 holes. He has now lowered his stroke average to 72.63 on the season.

Justin Smith, MINNESOTA
Senior, Moon Township, PA/Moon Area
Smith recorded his sixth top-10 finish of the season by tying for ninth at the National Invitational Tournament in Tucson over the weekend. The senior, who is a finalist for the Ben Hogan Award, shot rounds of 70-72-71 to finish at three-under par with a total of 213. He finished the event six shots behind winner Ryan Moore of UNLV. Smith is four-under par for the entire season thus far in 2003-04

Heath Peters, INDIANA
Junior, Garrett, IN/Garrett
Peters' third-place finish at the Steve Kerr Invitational last weekend was the second-best result of his career. His three-round total of 214 also matches the best 54-hole score of his career. This was the junior standout’s third top-10 performance of the season, his first of the spring and the 10th of his career. Peters has shot par or better in three of his last four rounds. On the season, the Garrett, Ind., product has a 72.75 scoring average (second lowest on the team) in 20 rounds.

SHIV KAPUR, PURDUE
SR, New Delhi, India/Vasant Vihar Modem
Senior Shiv Kapur tied for 12th place overall at the 14-team Palmetto Intercollegiate in Aiken, S.C. The senior recorded a three-round total of 214 for the event. His efforts helped the Purdue men's golf team finish sixth overall as the Boilermakers fired a 293 in the final round.

Overton led the Hoosiers to a second-place finish at the St. Croix Collegiate Classic, tying for fourth overall individually with a three-round score of 216. He opened the tournament by tying the day’s low score with a round of 68. Indiana finished second to Fresno State but defeated League opponents Ohio State and Penn State.

JUSTIN SMITH, MINNESOTA
SR, MOON TOWNSHIP, PA/MOON AREA
Senior All-American Justin Smith shot a one-under par 71 in the third and final round of the Puerto Rico Classic in Rio Mar, P.R., to finish fourth overall with a 5-under-par 211. Smith ended up just four shots behind tournament medalist Matt Hendrix of Clemson University. Minnesota finished eighth in the event, which also included Northwestern, Purdue, Illinois and Michigan.

KEVIN HALL, OHIO STATE
SR., CINCINNATI, OH/ ST. RITA SCHOOL FOR THE DEAF
Hall paced the Buckeyes’ to a third-place team finish among a field of 15 collegiate squads at the Matlock Classic in Lakeland, FL, last week. He finished tied for seventh individually, posting a score of 215 for the three-round event. Hall recorded his best round on the final day, firing a 68 over his last 18 holes.

TOM JOHNSON, NORTHWESTERN
SR, SACRAMENTO, CA/DEL CAMPO
Playing in a tournament that featured 10 of the nation's top 25 programs, Northwestern senior Tom Johnson finished fifth amongst a field of 90 golfers. He shot an even-par 216, which included a three-under 69 on his final round. Johnson, a two-time honorable mention All-American, equaled the finishes of North Carolina's Dustin Bray and Florida's Camilo Villegas, two of the country\'s top-ranked golfers. Northwestern was the only northern school playing in the 18-team tournament. All 18 teams were ranked in the nation's top 70.

ZACH DORAN, OHIO STATE

Doran was the top Big Ten finisher at the 2004 SunTrust Gator Invitational, hosted by the University of Florida over the weekend. Doran tied for 15th place overall, shooting 217 for the three-round event. He saved his best round, a 72, for the final day’s play. Doran’s total of 217 is his second-lowest of the 2003-04 season.
