Competing as an individual, Edin fired a 63 in the final round of the 2005 Boilermaker Invitational, capturing first place in the event by four strokes over Indiana's Jeff Overton. The round of nine-under par, shattered the previous Kampen Course record at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, which was 66, set by three other individuals. The round also tied the school's all-time lowest 18-hole round. Edin totaled 207 (70-74-63) strokes over three rounds, which is the second-lowest 54-hole total in school history. It ties teammate Bobby Bennett's total from the 2004 fall season. Edin accumulated eight birdies, one eagle and one bogey during the record-setting round. Purdue placed second in the event, despite Edin's score not counting towards the Boilermakers' total.

This is Edin's first career Golfer of the Week award.
