Illinois and Purdue Claim Final Weekly Men's Golf Honors

Men's Co-Golfer of the Week Illinois' Luke Guthrie earned medalist honors for the second time in his career over the weekend, tying for first at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate. Guthrie sank a 30-foot birdie putt on the final hole of the tournament to move into a tie for the lead. He shot a 3-under 210 for the tournament, helping the 13th-ranked Illini earn the team title. After shooting an even-par 71 in the first two rounds, Guthrie fired a 3-under 68 in the third round. The weekly award is Guthrie's third this season. Last Illinois Golfer of the Week: Chris DeForest (March 23, 2011) Adam Schenk, Purdue Adam Schenk takes home his first weekly award after winning medalist honors and helping Purdue take first place at the Boilermaker Invitational. The Boilermaker freshman shot a 3-under 213 at the tournament en route to his second individual medal this season. Schenk posted a 1-over 73 in the first round, following with a 1-under 71 in the second before firing a 3-under 69 in the third en route to the title.
