Gniewek earned his second first-place finish of the season this past weekend at the weather-shortened Fossum Invitational, leading the Spartans to a 33-stroke victory on the team side. The sophomore fired off a 45-hole score of 177 to oust teammate Jack Newman by one stroke. Gniewek became the 11th MSU medalist at the event as he led the field with 14 birdies. The Trenton, Mich., native takes home his first career Big Ten Golfer of the Week award.
