Illinois maintained its 12-stroke lead after the third round of the 2010 Big Ten Men’s Golf Championships at the Windsong Farm Golf Club in Maple Plain, Minn. As a team, the Illini fired a 300 in round three, moving their three-round total to 862. Michigan is second with 874 and is closely followed by Iowa (878) and Northwestern (879).

In the medalist race, two golfers stand atop the leaderboard as Northwestern’s David Lipsky and Michigan’s Matt Thompson boast equal scores of three-under par 210. Illinois’ Zach Barlow and Iowa’s Barrett Kelpin are tied for third with at one-under par 212.

The fourth and final round of the Big Ten Men’s Golf Championships is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. CT on Sunday.
