While Penn State and Illinois were able to complete the second round of competition at their respective NCAA Regional Championships sites, the second round of the Central Regional at South Bend, Ind., was suspended due to inclement weather on Friday, affecting play for some of the Big Ten participants.

In the East Regional in New Haven, Conn., Penn State finished round two in third place at even-par 560. The Nittany Lions fired a combined three-over par 283 during Friday's round and are five strokes back of first place Texas and Kent State. Penn State's Kevin Foley is second on the individual leaderboard after firing a second straight three-under par round and is one stroke behind the leader.

In the West Regional in Bremerton, Wash., Illinois moved up to second place in the team standings off the strength of a four-over par 292 during Friday's second round. The Illini are nine-over par for the championships. Illinois' Scott Langley and Zach Barlow each finished under par on Friday, with Langley at two-under and Barlow at one-under. Langley and Luke Guthrie are tied for 11th individually at one-over par.

The Central Regional was interrupted by rain toward the latter stages of round two, but Indiana, Iowa and Michigan were able to complete their rounds. The Wolverines fired a 281 on Friday, placing them at six-over par heading into Saturday. Iowa's 279 put it at seven-over for the championships, while the Hoosiers' total of 286 places them at 11-over. Northwestern will complete its second round Saturday morning. Michigan's Matt Thompson fired a 65 on Friday to drop into the red numbers at four-under par and is currently atop the individual leaderboard.

The completion of round two, and the third rounds at the other regionals, will begin at 8 a.m. ET on Saturday. The third round at the Central Regional will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m.
