Illinois and Penn State concluded play in the first round of the 2010 NCAA Men’s Golf Championships on Tuesday afternoon with one player each near the top of the leaderboard at the Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Illinois’ Scott Langley is tied for 13th place after firing a two-under par 70 on Tuesday, two strokes behind the leader. Penn State’s Tommy McDonoagh is tied for 25th place, having completed his first round three strokes off the pace at one-under par 71. Following Tuesday’s first round, Penn State fired a combined 13-over par 301 and is 26th in the standings, while Illinois will enter Wednesday’s second round in 30th place at 16-over par, having shot a team total of 304.

Both teams will be back to action when play resumes at 7 a.m. ET on Wednesday with the championships second round.
