Big Ten Men's Golf Begins Fall Schedule This Weekend

ROSEMONT, Ill. - The 2017-18 Big Ten men's golf season officially begins this weekend with Ohio State competing in The Carmel Cup in Pebble Beach, Calif., from Sept. 1-3. The Buckeyes, participating in the event for the third consecutive season, will play three 18-hole rounds at the famous Pebble Beach Golf Links.

Nine other conference teams will open their seasons the following week, with multiple Big Ten teams competing at three different events. Indiana will host the Wolf Run Intercollegiate at Wolf Run Country Club in Zionsville, Ind., from Sept. 8-10. The Gopher Invitational, hosted by Minnesota at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minn. from Sept. 10-11, will also mark the season debuts for Iowa, Michigan State, Penn State and Purdue. Nebraska and Rutgers will both make the trek to University Ridge Golf Club in Madison, Wis., from Sept. 10-12 for the Badger Invitational, hosted by Wisconsin.

Northwestern begins its season from Sept. 15-16 at Olympia Fields Country Club in Olympia Fields, Ill., as part of the Fighting Illini Invitational, along with host Illinois. Maryland will begin its fall season at the Ocean Course Invitational in Kiawah Island, S.C., from Sept. 11-12. Finally, Michigan travels to the Inverness Club in Toledo, Ohio for the Inverness Intercollegiate from Sept. 18-19.
