ROSEMONT, Ill. – The 2017 Big Ten men’s gymnastics season will begin this weekend, with two conference schools competing in their first meets on Friday. Penn State, which is ranked No. 6 in the College Gymnastics Association Preseason Coaches’ Poll, and No. 9 Nebraska will both open the 2016-17 season in West Point, N.Y., for the West Point Open.
The five remaining Big Ten schools will open their season the following day. Defending Big Ten Champion No. 3 Ohio State, No. 4 Minnesota, No. 5 Illinois, No. 7 Iowa, and No. 10 Michigan will compete on Saturday at the Windy City Invitational in Chicago.
The first Big Ten dual meet of the season is set for Jan. 28, with Illinois welcoming Minnesota. Last season, Ohio State captured its 13th Big Ten title and first since 2007. The 2017 Big Ten Championships will take place April 7-8 and will be hosted by Illinois.
