The Big Ten currently has six men's gymnastics teams ranked in the latest GymInfo top 15 poll, including the first five spots as Illinois claimed the No. 1 spot, followed by Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Iowa. Minnesota rounded out the Conference teams at No. 9.

The Illini, who previously clocked in at No. 2 in the preseason poll, moved up to the top spot courtesy of their first-place finish at the Windy City Invite on January 8 in Chicago, Ill. Defending national champion Penn State won all six of its events at Army to open the 2005 season with a victory, while the Buckeyes and the Wolverines are both 1-0 in League dual-meet action after OSU defeated Minnesota, 218.875-210.050 and Michigan posted a 219.200-215.450 victory over Iowa last weekend.

Five Big Ten schools will be back in action this weekend as Penn State hosts Navy and Temple on Friday. Illinois begins its quest of another Big Ten title when it travels to Minnesota on Saturday, while Ohio State will host No. 10 Illinois-Chicago and Michigan faces No. 7 Oklahoma.
