Ruggeri wins his fifth career Gymnast of the Week award and his second of the 2010 season. The junior recorded four first-place finishes, including a win in the all-around as the Illini defeated Minnesota over the weekend. Finishing with an 87.200 in the all-around, Ruggeri was the top finisher in floor exercise (14.750), on vault (16.050) and on horizontal bar (16.100). He also placed in the top 10 on the parallel bars (14.300), still rings (14.050) and the pommel horse (11.950). His mark on the horizontal bar was a career-high as he led the Illini to a 350.650-342.150 victory over the Gophers.

Freshman of the Week
Rohan Sebastian, Michigan

Sebastian wins his first Big Ten Freshman of the Week award after finishing as the top all-around performer for Michigan against Illinois-Chicago over the weekend. The freshman’s all-around score of 83.400 was a product of three top-three finishes, including a second place on the vault (15.700), and on the parallel bars (13.600) and a third-place effort on still rings (14.000). Sebastian also scored a 13.800 on floor exercise, a 13.100 on pommel horse and a 12.500 on horizontal bar as he made his all-around debut.
