Gymnast of the Week:
Casey Sandy, Penn State
Sr. - Brampton, Ontario, Canada – Chinguacousy
Penn State’s Casey Sandy collects his third weekly award of the season upon capturing four individual titles en route to his fourth all-around crown of 2009, in Saturday’s dual meet with third-ranked Illinois. It is the fourth time this season that Sandy has claimed four or more individual titles while winning the all-around in a single meet. The Nittany Lion senior placed first in the floor exercise (15.150), still rings (14.550), vault (15.900), and parallel bars (14.400), and compiled an all-around score of 86.600 to claim top honors. Sandy, who owns Penn State's top score in five of six events and the all-around, has earned 26 top-three finishes and won 22 titles in just five meets this season. This is the ninth weekly laurel for Sandy, who currently ranks first for the most weekly accolades ever garnered in Big Ten history.
