Michigan, Penn State Garner Weekly Conference Honors

Gymnast of the Week Caldwell earns his first Big Ten Gymnast of the Week honor after helping Michigan post a team score of 352.150 against Stanford over the weekend. Caldwell finished with top-five showings in floor exercise and on vault, setting two season-best scores in the process. The senior scored a 15.15 in his floor routine to take fourth, while his mark of 15.90 on vault was good enough for a fifth-place finish and was one-tenth shy of his all-time personal best. Last Michigan Gymnast of the Week: Chris Cameron (Feb. 1, 2010) Freshman of the Week The freshman earns his second Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor after scoring a pair of first-place finishes for Penn State over the weekend. The freshman won floor exercise and vault titles for the fourth time this season, finishing his floor routine with a score of 15.100 and scored a 15.850 on his vault run. Grant’s score on vault marked a new career high and also tied the team best for 2010, while his floor exercise score was one-tenth shy of a new personal record.
