Illinois' Yamauchi and Minnesota's Alvarez Share Men's Gymnastics Weekly Honors

Illinois' Yamauchi posted a school record 9.800 to earn first place on the still rings last week. His career mark also led the Illini to a school record ring score of 38.300, surpassing the previous mark of 37.925 set at Minnesota on January 22. Yamauchi also tied for seventh on the pommel horse with a 9.300 mark.

Alvarez picks up his fourth Conference weekly accolade of the season after winning his fifth all-around title of the season, posting a score of 54.400. Alvarez was a bright spot in the loss to Nebraska as he won three individual events, finishing first on the floor (9.800), pommel horse (9.600) and vault (9.55).
